HISTORY

WEstronic AS(TRanstema AS) was established in May 1992 as a company within the area of marine navigation and communication in Norway. It was registered as a Norwegian corporation october 26.th 1992. 

The new company, Transtema AS, was a subsidiary of Sweedish Transtema Communications AB and should serve the Norwegian market with marine communication systems and solutions. In addition the company was the Norwegian representative dor Trimble Navigation Inc. for GPS navigation and military applications. 

In 1994 Geir Mordal was emplyed as technical / service manager. Mordal had great experience and insight in the field, and this led to the cooperation with the Radar producer Selesmar Slr, later known as Consilium Selesmar. 

In 1995 the Sweedish owners withdrew from the company. This led to a name change and the company was now a 100% Norwegian company. 
The new name was Westronic AS with new logo and profile as known today. The share capital was also increesed at this time.

In 196 the expanded to a total of 4 employees. Additional 2 people where hired in 1998, one in service department and one one accounting. 

Westronic AS has today 11 employees, 5 in service and 6 in sales/administration, and wishes to provide sales and service in all areas of marine navigation and communication.

 

Westronic AS also includes a small production within our area of work.
Following products are developed and produced:

  • Naval GPS System (Customers: The Navy and Coast Guard.) 
  • CBG4-422 NMEA Buffer. 
  • New products in development.
